Arm Bar'n for Aneurysms Roll-a-Thon
It had been just about 3 years since an aneurysm was found in my brain. It sits right behind my left eye and likes to make my life difficult on a regular basis. I have chronic, ferocious migraines, balance issues, weird sight things, etc. Because of the close proximity to my eye there is virtually nothing they can do for it except manage symptoms. After a few super difficult months this year, I got tired of sitting around waiting for aneurysm research and technology to advance and decided to jump into fundraising myself.
Martial arts (jiu jitsu and kickboxing specifically) have played a tremendous role in giving me back control over this incredibly frustrating situation. It gave me a place to fight when all I wanted to do was hide, a way to gain some control in a situation where I virtually have none, and helped me feel a little bit tough at my lowest points.
It also put me in contact with the most amazing tribe of people you could ask for. On August 21 at Martial Arts and More in Jacksonville we are coming together to do a 50 round roll-a-thon to raise money for aneurysm research.
Anyone is welcome to come roll. Even if you can't, though, please consider donating. Absolutely anything is appreciated and I will adore you forever for being involved.
