MEET OOGI!
Found as a stray, Oogi was wandering aimlessly in a parking lot around midnight September 20th. He was filthy and majorly infested with fleas and just generally in pretty rough shape. His rescuer tried for weeks to find his owner...all to no avail. Living in a no-pet apartment, she reached out Boxer Rescue of NWA who embraced Oogi and, in faith, trusted funds could be raised to cover his vetting care.
Oogi is deaf and riddled with buckshot. Last week he had multiple lumps and bumps surgically removed. He is heartworm positive which requires a very expensive, slow-acting treatment which takes about six weeks to eradicate. His vetting care is no small expense(HW treatment is not cheap.)
Boxer Rescue of NWA is a 501-c no kill, non-profit rescue with an all-volunteer team. We count on the caring hearts of our FB friends to help cover the vetting and care of the boxers we rescue. Will you consider giving a tax-deductible donation to help us meet Oogi’s vetting and care needs?
Even just $5 or $10 adds up to make a HUGE difference in the life of one more boxer in need.
Dr. Kate Williams @ St Francis Animal Hospital guesses him to be about 5+ years old. He is neutered and recovering well from surgery to remove those superficial lumps & bumps and starts his heartworm treatment on Tuesday, 11/2/2020.
The Champagne family will be fostering this sweet, deaf boxer as he undergoes heartworm treatment. When Jeanne asked Dr. Kate about Oogi, it happened he was sitting on her lap as they chatted on the phone. Apparently, he's allowed free reign in the vet clinic because he gets along so well with other dogs AND cats. She said, "He doesn't seem to have a care in the world, and he's super chill."
Oogi should be available for adoption in about 6 weeks.
We will post updates on the rescue's FB page #SavingOogi
