Bounce Out the Stigma Project

Please let me tell you about an amazing organization near and dear to our hearts!  Bounce Out the Stigma is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. Started in 2005 by Mike “Mighty Mike" Simmel, a former Harlem Wizard who was diagnosed with epilepsy at an early age, Bounce Out the Stigma provides a unique basketball experience for children with special needs.  Coach Mike knows first-hand the struggles and challenges our children face every day:  peer pressure, bullying, low self-esteem, and the stigma attached to being “different” than their peers.  Bounce Out the Stigma was started so children could gain the skills and confidence they need to excel not only on the court, but in real life.  Although based in New Jersey with the majority of programs held in our area, Coach Mike travels around the United States conducting camps, clinics, school assembly programs, and special speaking engagements to help empower children with special needs.   He has won many awards and accolades in recognition of his work with children.  His passion and dedication are an inspiration to us all!


I am hoping this holiday season you will consider making a donation to Bounce Out the Stigma so Coach Mike could continue his amazing work with our children during the upcoming year.   As a mom of twin boys with Autism and ADHD,  I know all too well about the struggles that children with special needs face everyday.  Keith, Ryan, and I are so lucky to be a part of the Bounce Out the Stigma family!
