Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit Boston Firefighters Local 718 Childrens Fund Inc, a
A little bit about the Children's fund. The Children's fund was founded by deceased Boston Fire Lieutenant Bob Kilduff. After serving the citizens of Boston as a fireman for 35 years he was diagnosed with occupational cancer. As the vice-president of our union he had the voice and position to do something powerful with his diagnosis. He began a vigorous cancer awareness initiative for his fellow firefighters to get screened for cancer, as early diagnosis is key in the fight against cancer. He also wanted to give back something more to the children of Boston, something that would become part of his legacy, thus he founded the Boston Firefighters Local 718 Children's Fund. Many times in his career he had seen families lose everything in a house fire, but it was particularly hard to see kids lose their presents around Christmas time. This fund tries to bring some of the joy of the holiday season back to these families by replacing the gifts lost and bringing a smile back to their faces.
Unlike almost every other charity, all of the funds raised will go directly to the mission, any operating costs are paid for by the Local 718 Boston Fire Union.
