We are writing to provide an update on the progress of Dr John's treatment in India. As many of you may have heard, Dr John's first biopsy had led the doctors to determine that they could not do an immediate surgery to remove the cancerous tumor from the pancreas because the tumor had already grown and engulfed a major blood vessel that supplies to the intestines. Thus, they made a decision to do chemotherapy and radiation for about nine weeks, to reduce the size of the tumor first, then do surgery to remove it.
However, the biopsy left them with questions regarding the true nature of the tumour. The doctors could not say for sure if it was cancerous!!! They needed another biopsy to get conclusive results. They therefore, decided to conduct a second biopsy to truly establish the nature of the tumour. This exposed another challenge; that the bile and pancreatic ducts seemed to be partially blocked. If they ended up fully blocked, this would lead to jaundice which would complicate the ability to apply chemotherapy and radiation.
The doctors decided that an immediate operation was necessary to conduct a by-pass to the liver and pancreatic ducts in order to avoid the blockage, thus allowing for chemotherapy and radiation to proceed. This operation was carried out on the 17th February 2022. It was a Laparotomy operation, accompanied by a third biopsy to make conclusive determination of the nature of the tumour.
The good news, and for which we give all praise to God is that:
1. The blockage of the ducts was a false alarm. The threat was far removed from the risk area and it was decided that the by-pass would not be necessary!!!
2. The third biopsy results showed and confirmed conclusively that Dr. John's
pancreatic tumour is not cancerous. There is no cancer in Dr. John's body!!!
3. The doctors are of the view that the tumour is a result of "auto-immune pancreatitis".
They are conducting further tests to confirm this and to determine the new course of treatment that will then be required.
We want to lift praises to God for this development. This far He has brought us and we glorify Him for everything. Please do not relax the prayers though as the tumour is still on his pancreas. We need to continue praying until full victory is achieved. We also need to continue supporting the medical process with our sacrificial giving.
When the full results are out and a course of treatment has been agreed, we shall provide another update, including a revised plan of treatment and costs. We have also been assured that Dr John is recovering steadily from last week's surgery.

Peter Michael Oumo, Senior Pastor, Kampala Trumpet Center and Larry Alberts, director Body of Christ Int'l and board member of World Trumpet Mission, sent out a letter to those in the nations who know, love and esteem John Mulinde. This letter went into detail of the process of coming to a diagnose of stage 2 cancer of the pancreas and a tumor that is growing towards a major blood vessel. Dr. John was transferred to India for the surgery and subsequent chemotherapy and radiation therapy. They are estimating this process will take approximately six months. The medical facility could not give an actual cost as it will depend on what treatment and how he reacts. An estimate is $150,000. The hospital said they need a significant payment in advance.
Please pray for Dr. John. Also please prayerfully consider helping cover the cost of Pastor John's treatment. All donations will be used to help pay for Dr. John Mulinde's medical expenses. Body of Christ International is facilitating the receiving of donations with 100% going to World Trumpet Missions to pay the hospitals in India.
