Support Critical Research for Uveal Melanoma and Blue Nevus
Help Fund Urgent Research for a Rare, Incurable Cancer
Our patient community is rallying to fund a groundbreaking research project at UCSF to tackle uveal melanoma (UM) and blue nevus-like melanoma (BNLM) — rare, aggressive cancers that currently have no cure.
We’ve created the first-ever consortium with the Melanoma Research Alliance to address these devastating diseases. While we wait for a larger grant to arrive later this year, we need immediate support to jumpstart this critical work now.
Your donation will help UCSF’s world-class team quickly launch a cutting-edge drug screening program, using advanced technology to test thousands of existing FDA-approved and investigational compounds on tumor models with the specific genetic mutations (GNAQ, GNA11, and BAP1) that drive these cancers. This approach gives us the best chance to identify promising treatments that could move to patients faster.
We’ve vetted UCSF’s team, which includes internationally recognized leaders in melanoma biology, genetics, structural biology, and drug discovery. Their expertise, combined with the Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center’s resources, gives us confidence this project can make a real difference.
By giving today, you’ll help us get this research off the ground without delay — and bring hope to patients and families facing these rare cancers that need solutions NOW.
Every donation, big or small, moves us closer to a cure. Thank you for supporting this urgent mission!
