MA Tornado- Charity Lost Everything
The Blessed Backpack Brigade works to provide guidance and support for the local homeless, elderly, disabled, veterans, unemployed, underemployed, impoverished, and beyond. They provide free fellowship meals as well as supplying backpacks filled with everyday essentials for those who are in need or homeless. They rely 100% on donations and volunteers.
According to their Facebook page: " Please know that our storage area was in the basement of one of the buildings that suffered severe damage. There was no power, but we were able to see that our place had 6 plus inches of water because the roof was mostly gone. As soon as the power is back on in our building, we will be able to see exactly what it is we are facing, and have a better handle on what we will need.
We DO know that our Fellowship Meals supply area is totally gone. Cups, plates, napkins, etc. etc.
So I'm asking for your help. I have no idea of the value of all of the supplies, food, backpacks and clothing that were destroyed. So I'm shooting for a goal of $5,000 to help get them back on their feet.
This is a great volunteer organization, with genuine caring people who go above and beyond to help those... who truly need the help. No Salaries... every dollar goes towards their mission.
Please do what you can to help. Thank You.
