Those of us lucky enough to row at BCR know the joy of swing when a rowing crew are moving in sync. We know the full-body workout that rowing gives us. And we share a love of being outside on beautiful Lake Onota.

Parents of rowers know their kids' joy and excitement when they come home from practice all lit up, awake, strong, fully in their bodies.

Berkshire Community Rowing makes it all possible. And you know making it possible costs money.

We have another, higher purpose at BCR which is to bring rowing to a part of our Berkshire community that may not see themselves as fitting into the sport of rowing. Perhaps they see rowing as an elite, collegiate sport, or maybe they don’t know anything about rowing at all. We want them to know about it. We want them to give it a try, and to see themselves as belonging to our crew. We don't want money to stand in the way, and we give scholarships to any family who needs one.

In 2025, we are doing all we can to realize this mission, and you can make a difference here. Your donation will help fund our scholarship program so that any Berkshire county child can join the BCR crew. Please help us make that possible.

This is the fundraiser for the 2024 Berkshire Community Rowing Ergathon. Help us reach our goal of bringing the great sport of crew to young people who would not otherwise be able to participate in it. The Ergathon is on Saturday, March 23. Participants will commit to rowing a certain number of meters, and sponsors will pay a certain amount per meter rowed using this fundraiser!

Berkshire Community Rowing has spent more this year than any previous year to help grow our programs. We have made a historic start on our Diversity and Inclusion initiatives with our program at Morningside Community School. We saw the joy and excitement on those kids’ faces during their on-water session in August. These are children who may look at the “elite” sport of rowing and think “that’s not for people like me.” We are proving that idea wrong!

We must raise $10,750 by the end of the year to cover our deficit. The Trustees are 100% on board with this fundraising effort and among the four of us we have raised $2500. Every Trustee is contributing. That leaves $8,250.

Support Berkshire Community Rowing and get an erg in the bargain.

Here's how it works:

For every $25 dollar incremental donation made to the club between now and December 15, we will enter your name in the erg hat. When your lucky name gets pulled from the hat you will get a brand new Concept2 Model D erg (value $1100) shipped to you at no charge, anywhere in the continental US!

A couple of rules:

1. Trustees can’t win the erg. They can donate though!

2. We need to collect at least $1500 in donations to make it financially possible for the club to buy you the erg. If we don’t meet that threshold, we will do a 50/50 split with you when you win!

3. We’re capping contributions for this fundraiser at $3000. That’s 120 chances at a new erg! Very good odds. Tell your friends across the country; let’s meet that $3000 cap!
