Pidyon Shvuyim / A Young Man Wrongly Accused
Please join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit Beit Hashem Nehalech Inc, which helps families that are struggling with troubled adolescence & poverty . This organization provides emotional, mental and financial support and any donation will help make an impact. Currently we are striving to help the Ben Itzhak family which resides in Israel, there son was at the wrong place at the wrong time and blamed for an act he did not commit solely because he is from a family that has no financial capability to get appropriate help. Many families we help are like the Ben Itzhak family financially burdened and in need of social services.
At the time of his trial, 20-year-old Nachum Ben Itzhak, was sure he will be cleared of the murder charge. After all, the video showed that the other defendant was the one who fought with the victim. He was stunned when the murderer was exonerated and he was convicted. It was also strange that the defendant’s family came prepared to celebrate and threw candy in the air the minute the verdict was read. “I died inside,” Nachum said.
It was clear to Nachum that money played a major part. He was poor and the other was rich and hired a huge TV lawyer. Ironically, the same was charged with fraud and bribes on other cases Nachum was sentence to 13 year imprisonment and a huge fine was imposed on him.
In a recent court of appeals ruling, the judge indicates that there was enough reasonable doubt to conclude that the verdict was faulty. The judge also expressed her surprise that the other person went home free and clear, when clearly he was supposed to at least be found guilty as an accomplice.
While in prison, Nachum is studying towards a degree in Psychology and completes all the necessary treatments/classes he needs to be paroled after serving 2/3 of his sentence. Some of the classes/treatments that he needs to complete mandate that he be transferred to a very difficult prison because the classes are only offered there.
One of the requirements is that he show an attempt to pay the fine. Without it, he cannot be paroled. But he does not have the money. We ask you to help raise the money so that Nachum, a victim of erroneous conviction, be able to meet the parole requirements, get out of prison, and resume his life as a contributing citizen to society.
Please HELP and donate generously so Nachum can come back home!
All donations are tax deductible with a receipt.
