To all my RockABye Baby friends,

Over the past week we have all witnessed unimaginable horrors affecting both solider's and innocent civilians in Israel. I know you all share in my shock and disbelief at the sheer brutality inflicted upon the citizens of Israel by the Hamas terrorists.

To help in some small way, I have decided to set up a GOFUNDME page to raise money for an incredible charity called Beit Halochem UK.

Beit Halochem in Israel are responsible for the care and rehabilitation, both physically and mentally of injured soldiers and victims of terror. In the coming weeks and months the numbers of people they will help is sadly going to increase substantially. Next week I will be donating all the proceeds of my music groups to this amazing charity. I will run classes on MONDAY, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY AND FRIDAY AT 10.30AM. Do you want to join me in making a difference? After last year's successful ride, I have decided to participate again in Courage in Motion 2022 in October 23–27. This annual cycling event is in support of more than 51,000 disabled veterans wounded while defending the State of Israel or through acts of terror. I'm raising money in aid of BEIT HALOCHEM UK, a national charity in the UK devoted to raising awareness and funds for Israel’s wounded veterans and victims of terror, and every donation will help.

Beit Halochem Centres in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa, Beer Sheva, and Nahariya ensure that the injured and their families receive the help they need and deserve in order to return to productive and fulfilling lives. These Centres offer an unparalleled range of exceptional rehabilitative services, including physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, therapeutic devices, specialised equipment, sport coaching, and cultural activities.

I will join an international group of cyclists in Israel and ride alongside Israeli wounded heroes for five days. My goal is to raise funds and, perhaps more significantly, show my personal commitment to these men and women.

To mark my 80th birthday, rather than just focusing on personal celebrations and reflecting on the many good things life has given me over the years, I should like to share this milestone by supporting Beit Halochem.

Beit Halochem UK is a charity which is devoted to raising awareness and funds for the Beit Halochem centres in Israel which provide rehabilitative services and life long care for disabled veterans of the Israeli Defence Forces along with victims of terror and their families.

In the wake of the devastating events that transpired on October 7th 2023, the subsequent military operations have left Beit Halochem facing a critical situation. Currently, they are confronted with the pressing needs of over 11,400 newly injured soldiers and victims of terror. The toll of injured soldiers since the ground forces entered Gaza is a stark reminder of the ongoing challenges. These numbers continue to rise daily.

The 62,400+ Beit Halochem members (IDF Veterans and Victims of Terror) are given a new lease of life at Beit Halochem's four rehabilitation centres based in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Haifa and Beer Sheva. They remain members of the organisation for the rest of their lives. The Beit Halochem centres provide a blend of exceptional rehabilitative services including physiotherapy, hydrotherapy and chiropractic treatments conducted alongside social and specialised sport options, educational programmes and a vast range of creative activities.

Each centre offers a wide choice of physical and social activities, housing an auditorium, multipurpose gymnasium, classrooms, fitness rooms, occupational and physical therapy units, trauma therapy units, a cafeteria, offices and a social wing.

‍♂ The Challenge

In August 2025, I will take on one of the most extreme endurance cycling events in the world—London-Edinburgh-London (LEL)—a grueling 1,500km ride from London to Edinburgh and back, within just 125 hours. This means riding nearly continuously for five days, through all weather conditions, across some of the toughest terrain in the UK. It’s an immense test of physical and mental endurance, and only 60-70% of riders typically finish.

I’m dedicating this ride to Beit Halochem, an organisation that provides essential rehabilitation, support, and community for disabled veterans and victims of terror attacks. Just as these individuals push their limits in rebuilding their lives, I will push mine in completing this challenge. Your donation will directly support programs that help them recover, regain independence, and thrive.
