Aveson

Hi, all — I'm Jen Wang, a parent at Aveson and co-president of Aveson Community Organization, our PTA. I'm organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Aveson Charter Schools, our beautiful school which has suffered terribly in the Eaton Fire. Donations will go directly to The Heart of Aveson, Aveson's general fund, which pays salaries and benefits, school supplies, and so much more. Aveson is a non-profit, and your donation is tax-deductible.

Aveson School of Leaders, our TK-5 campus, has burned to the ground. Aveson Global Leadership Academy, our 6-12 campus, is standing, but damaged and unusable. I ask that you please donate whatever you can to help sustain our school as we work to rebuild. Our community is beautiful, and resilient, but also facing unthinkable challenges at the moment. Our staff is greatly overtaxed at the moment, as many of them have lost their homes or are displaced themselves. Your support means the world.

There is so much to love about our beautiful school, beyond our campuses; we are more than our walls and the spaces we occupy. My family came here because we were looking for a place that sees and values every child, that meets them where they are, and that celebrates and notices every kind of growth: a new concept learned, a new skill developed, a new friend made, a new challenge weathered. If you came to a tour or saw a brochure, you might learn about how much our school values a personally tailored learning experience, or how much care they put into social-emotional learning. When I have a few seconds to tell another parent what I think, I tell them that my three very different kids all thrive in this one place, which is as meaningful a compliment as I can think to give. But at the heart of all of that is this: seeing and valuing every child. I believe our school cherishes my children, and that's why I love it the way that I do.

Please give what you can, to enable Aveson's recovery and to ensure Aveson's future. We have the will and the ability to survive, but what we need at this time is the support of our broader community to ensure it.
