About Athenai Institute
Athenai is a nonpartisan, student-founded 501(c)(3) formed in May 2020 to remove the influence of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) from American college campuses. We believe that American universities’ continued financial and academic investment in the CCP in the form of endowments, research partnerships, and other ties expands their financial dependence on the genocidal Chinese regime and compromises their commitments to academic freedom, a culture of open discussion, and ethical investing. University divestment from the CCP is both a practical and moral necessity.
