Antioch Traveling Closet Corporation NFP

The Antioch Traveling Closet, an NFP that supports families in the greater Northern Illinois area, is seeking donations to help grow its 501(c)(3). In the past few years, our community work has been featured on local TV affiliates WGN, CBS, and NBC News for their Making a Difference segment. In October 2023, through fundraisers and generous community and corporate partners like you, we secured a brick-and-mortar building to expand our Lake County outreach.

Since its inception in 2014, the corporation has served over 10,000 individuals and given away over 200,000 items of clothing, 3,000 backpacks, and countless quantities of toiletries, coats, gloves, and haircuts—all at no cost to individuals or families who have fallen on hard times.

Our mission is to ensure that no child, adult, or senior citizen is without essential items we sometimes take for granted. Our long-term vision is a community where everyone's basic needs are met. To effect long-term community improvement, we work to increase awareness of the issues facing vulnerable populations.

How can you support us? You can:

• Make a monetary donation to support crucial toiletry items needed by families, the building of a new rack and shelving clothing system at our new location, and the securement of seasonal supplies such as backpacks for our fall back-to-school giveaway and coats, hats, and mittens for our winter giveaway.

• Provide a donation for us through gift cards to give to families.

• Set up a service day for your company at one of our giveaways to assist with area families.

• Pick up donations at your place of business or make them through our website, using the "donate" link to PayPal or any major credit card.

Through your cooperation and generosity, the Antioch Traveling Closet will be able to work with families for years to come. The Antioch Traveling Closet is looking to raise money to purchase a washer and dryer for our new building! Our main form of assistance to others is by supplying clothing through times of need, and having a washer and dryer would significantly improve our operations and help us to provide clean clothing.

The Antioch Traveling Closet is a 501c(3) not-for-profit organization that works to provide families in our community and surrounding areas with basic necessities, like clothing and toiletries, that many people take for granted.

We are donation and volunteer based, meaning everything we have to give is donated to us, and then received and organized by our dedicated team of volunteers.

After many years of utilizing spaces in our community, we are happy to announce that we finally have a home of our own! Our new building will give us the opportunity to help more people than ever before in our own, dedicated space and bring more of our ideas to life. Having a washer and dryer in this new location would be incredibly helpful to our cause.

We believe that everyone deserves clean clothes, no matter their circumstances.
