New Building for Main Office Location @ Leech Lake
Accessible, Safe, and Accommodating for Clients & Staff
Who:
Anishinabe Legal Services (ALS)—the only free civil legal services provider in Minnesota directly serving low income residents of the northern Anishinabe reservations! ALS is the first ever Indian Legal Services organization in the country established over 50 years ago!
What:
Board of directors and staff have worked together to identify program’s needs for new officing. The best option is a brand new, built to suit, manufactured unit with specifications for accessibility and client privacy.
The Overall Budget:
At the present time, we have the following budget which shows an option if the program were to choose a new lot for the new building. There’s a potential for salvage value of the current location which would save time and relocation efforts if a new lot was secured as staff could continue to work at the current office until move in date. The budget does encompass building, foundation, permitting/fees, and relocation costs such as new furniture, etc.
EXPENSES
ALS Board of directors has dedicated $60,000 to start the building fund!
a) Re-Use Current Lot + New Building 3,500 SF Building $493,500
b) Purchase Land + New Building 3,500 SF Building $498,500
