Hi everyone! My name is Deborah Cram, founder of Animals of the Pass Rescue.
Who We Are
At Animals of the Pass Rescue, our life’s work is boots-on-the-ground animal welfare in Banning, Beaumont, and surrounding cities. We are a registered 501(c)(3) foster nonprofit (EIN: 39-3525649).
Our Story
For 956 days—since January 9, 2024, when the local shelter officially stopped taking animals off the streets—our cities have had no shelter and no county contract, leaving abandoned pets defenseless as street prey.
We refuse to turn our backs on this heartbreak. To fight this crisis, we rescue animals, find foster and adoptive homes, feed daily cat colonies, and supply vaccinations, microchips, deworming, and food to unhoused pets and low-income families. We also support struggling owners in our community who have nowhere else to turn, assisting them with rehoming their pets safely so animals don't end up abandoned on the streets. A core part of our mission is promoting spay and neuter—whenever we can secure an appointment, we get local pets in right away. We are also actively advocating with public officials to bring a low-cost mobile spay/neuter clinic directly into our community to fix this issue at the root.
What We Are Facing & What We Need
We are currently in a critical transition as we relocate our operation. Because our previous property hasn't finalized its sale, funds are tied up, leaving us in a tough financial limbo while we wait for our next space to open up. Paying for temporary storage while working on a tight timeline has stretched our rescue funds to the limit, making these next two weeks extremely challenging.
On top of this relocation limbo, we are hit with two major emergencies:
1. OUR FOSTER & ADOPTION EMERGENCY: Because we are in the middle of this intense move, we cannot take in new animals. Crucially, we desperately need foster homes—or adopters (including foster-to-adopt)—for the pets currently in our care to keep them safe and settled. Without fosters or adopters stepping up right now, we will be forced into costly boarding fees that we simply cannot afford.

2. OUR RESCUE VEHICLE IS DOWN: To make matters worse, our transport vehicle is in the shop. It costs $300 just for the diagnostic evaluation alone, and we already know expensive parts and major repairs are needed. Without our vehicle, delivering supplies to unhoused pets and feeding daily cat colonies is nearly impossible. Direct payments for our vehicle repair can also be made directly to the mechanic shop in Banning.
Every tax-deductible donation goes directly to keeping our rescue afloat through this limbo, fixing our vehicle, providing pet resources, and feeding colony cats. Please apply to foster or adopt today!
Every contribution, big or small, makes a real impact. Even just a few dollars can help us survive these next critical two weeks. If you can't donate right now, sharing this fundraiser means the world to us and the animals we fight for every day!
