Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley is fundraising
Help the Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley Save Lives!
The Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley is at full capacity right now. The number of dogs and cats currently at the shelter is simply overwhelming to the dedicated staff who take care of the animals every single day. To complicate the issue, many of the abandoned animals that we are taking care of right now also have serious medical issues and injuries, which is causing a major financial strain on the shelter.
That’s why we are asking for your help today. We currently have multiple animals in our care with serious health problems. We are a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, so we must fundraise to raise money for our animals’ care. We need your help in order to properly care for these amazing animals that did not ask to be abandoned and left to suffer in pain with these injuries.
Here is a little more information about some of our animals who are requiring very expensive medical assistance:
• Rockstar: The sweetest young dog you’ll ever meet! He needs knee surgery in order to maintain his ability to walk and maybe someday run again.
• Munchkin: A cat that was left to die in a house after her owners sadly passed away and no one went back to rescue her for 3 months! Amazingly, she survived, but is facing an uphill battle with long term health issues.
• Sweet Mabel: Mabel was brought to us with only 10% of her hair left and with multiple masses covering her body. She requires medicated baths three times a week. She is a frequent visitor at the vet office. Some of her fur is growing back, but she still requires ongoing vet care. We are hoping that we can help her live a healthier life.
• Jaxx: A dog who is only 2 years old and has serious hip dysplasia which will require surgery in order to allow him to walk.
• Gypsy: A dog who came to us as a Dog Control Surrender. After discovering a mass on his paw, it was unfortunately diagnosed as terminal cancer. We are doing what we can to give Gypsy the very best life, for however much longer he is with us.
• Chester: A tiny kitten that was rescued from the middle of the road alone and crying and brought to our shelter. His eye has ruptured and we are doing all we can to try to salvage the other eye.
As you can see we have a lot of sick animals and a lot of very large vet bills in our near future. Any money collected through this specific GoFundMe initiative will go straight to caring for the animals at our shelter that are facing uphill health battles.

This sweet girl recently arrived to ASSV. She was hiding under someone's shed and they heard her cries for help. Once they caught her, they realized that she was injured and brought her to us where she could get the help she needs.
