A graduation event for a child who passed away you ask? Yes, that’s exactly right. A graduation event for a child who is still someone’s son, brother, cousin, etc. A graduation event for the child who first made someone a mother and taught her all about life, grief, and love for the past 18 years.

Dominic Anthony would’ve walked across the stage to receive his diploma this past June and because I cannot meet him at the end of the stage or shout his name from a densely packed auditorium, I want to reach out to the masses in his honor and ask for a little help.

SO many of you allowed my son’s name to fill your hearts and you’ve never made his mother feel crazy for loving him as hard as she does. While you may not have fully understood me, you’ve only ever supported he and I… and that’s invaluable. In honor of this moment in his life, we’re going to be taking donations for Angel Names Association. All funds will be sent to this organization that has helped keep my son’s memory very much alive over the last 18 years. Instead of a graduation card, slipping a few bucks in our donation bin to support another family suffering the greatest loss of their lives would be unspeakable.

For all the years you’ve allowed my son to be my son without judgement, I thank you beyond any compilation of words.
