ABC House of Andover Outdoor Space
Hi All!
Chelsea Frei, also known as @AndoverMoms, here! As a former Andover resident, I have seen firsthand how the ABC House of Andover on Main Street is a unique, progressive, and infinitely positive addition to our community. If you are not familiar with their organization, I have provided some further information on them at the bottom.
Due to Covid-19: The ABC scholars will be returning to Andover from their distant cities during mid August for a two week quarantine. This may be as early as August 10, depending on AHS Show Choir. They are challenged by all the unanticipated expenses, including PPE and changes needed in the dorm to accommodate social distancing.
What We Can Do: Create an outdoor space in the backyard where the students can have outdoor meetings with academic advisors and tutors, group dinners, and other educational events in a safe environment. Ideally, a nice big table, chairs, umbrella, potted plants. This space would be immensely helpful for the students and their teachers/advisors.
Any amount helps! Furniture is expensive, and since this will be their main space for the near future, let's make it beautiful!

More information about Andover Committee For A Better Chance Inc (A Better Chance of Andover): Since 1967, A Better Chance of Andover has been closing the education gap for students of color in American society. We bring motivated students of color to live in Andover, where they attend Andover High School to better prepare for college. Thanks to your generosity, we provide our students with a house on Main Street and a complete network of support and love. Our nonprofit program offers outstanding students from under-performing schools the opportunity to prepare for college at Andover High School, one of Massachusetts' top performing schools. The Andover community generously supports our goal of changing young lives, one person at a time. Students board at our dormitory in Andover while they attend four years at Andover High School.
