Double Your Impact for JELLY's Ear Surgery - Hear we go!
Like we always say: Rescue dogs can't catch a break!

Poor Jelly has only been enjoying her freedom for a few weeks. Her sweet & playful personality is blooming, but her need for surgery is holding her back from her forever home. Jelly continues to have terrible ear infections, despite treatment. Her only option for relief is a TECA procedure: Total Ear Canal Ablation, which is similar to a human having tubes put in their ears. Until the surgery, Jelly will continue to suffer from her excruciating ear condition. The estimate for her surgery is $4,920 - $5,682.

Everything else in her life has been wonderful since her rescue. Jelly has an amazing foster dad who runs Passage East located in Wilton, CT. Jelly lives with him in his home but she is such a friendly & affectionate social-butterfly that she attends "daycare dates" with her new pals. Her days are full of exercise, enrichment, and love!

In fact, Jelly has done so well at Passage East that and they love her so much that they have generously offered to match EACH DONATION up to 50% of the cost of surgery!

Jelly's Story: was a lovely pet for 3 years before being unceremoniously dumped at the shelter due to having "no time." This once friendly & loving girl became a shell of her old self, now terrified, all alone in the world, reduced to a number - 221970. To make matters worse, her ears became painfully infected, and the shelter medical staff could see the damage already done to both her inner ears. Although her one-ear-up look is adorable, it is painful for her. In mid-March, her fearfulness and need for surgery put Jelly at risk for euthanasia - which Jelly narrowly escaped, thanks to her wonderful foster from above! Now, her days are full of toys, lots of friends to play with, and snuggles, of course! Have your pup join Jelly's daycare dates at Passage East!

Support Buster's Journey to a Forever Home
Remember adorable BUSTER who was found roaming the streets of Staten Island?! Just a few short weeks ago AmsterDog rescue saved him from euthanasia at the Staten Island ACC. This little meatball is so full of love and also FULL of energy! Unfortunately, Buster was never given any structure or training with his previous owners who left him at the shelter without a care in the world. Now this youngster is in need of some help. AmsterDog rescue and his awesome foster mommy want to make sure he is the best boy he can be for his future forever family. Buster is so eager to learn! After an assessment, it was determined he is highly trainable. With that being said our sweet Buster boy is in need of some training to assure his future success. We must make sure this adorable boy will NEVER end up back at the shelter and at risk of euthanasia again. We have a wonderful trainer lined up who will take Buster into his home and work with him 1 on 1. This will be extremely beneficial for Buster but will also come at a high cost. This rescue saves so many dogs on a daily basis and could really use some help with Buster’s training. PLEASE find it in your heart to donate. Rescue dog HAZE's injured eye - Urgent Surgery Needed
4/2/25 PLEASE HELP: Rescue dogs can't catch a break! After that adorable pic of him that we posted on our social media over the weekend, Haze got a small cut over his eye in a small scuffle with a different dog - unfortunately, eye lid injuries can be very itchy for dogs, and, as expected they want to scratch and reopen the wound. Which happened overnight, very quickly escalating into a much more serious injury due to its location.

Haze needs immediate eye surgery TODAY in an attempt to save his eye. If they can not successfully repair the eyelid, the eye is usually "sacrificed" - though we will not know more until he is in surgery. Donations are desperately needed - yet another major medical case in 2025 - every $1 makes a huge difference. If everyone chips in a little, we can make a BIG difference in his care!!

Haze is receiving specialized care at Mount Laurel Animal Hospital at 220 Mount Laurel Road in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. Please see the attached pictures for his medical bills and imaging. His total bill is $4,156.06.

Haze's Story: In November 2024, Haze was found as an emaciated stray in New York City and brought to the Manhattan Animal Care Center. At the shelter, Haze was known as Buck 213793 and he needed immediate medical care for the pitiful state that he arrived in. Emaciated, anemic, weak, terrified - Haze/Buck was in rough shape. Physically, he slowly began to stabilize but he sadly found himself on the at risk for euthanasia list in December 2024. Right before the holidays, Haze got the ulti-mutt miracle: a loving foster home. Because 2 wonderful people opened their hearts & home to Haze, his life was saved then. Since then, they've continued to (healthily) fatten him up and shower him with the love & affection he deserves. Haze is a wonderfully sweet dog, getting along so well with his foster siblings and being so well-behaved. Once fully healed, Haze is still available for adoption - we just hope that there is forever home out there that will love him even more however he comes out of this surgery.

Help Save Axel the Rescue Dog: Emergency Surgery Needed!
AXEL NEEDS YOUR HELP!

Rescue dogs can't catch a break! Poor Axl Rose has a terrible obstruction in his gastrointestinal tract and needs emergency obstruction removal surgery to save his life. Our initial estimate begins at $8,493.52 - $9,323.81. He will most likely need to have some of his intestine removed and be hospitalized for 3-4 days. PLEASE HELP! Axel is a strong boy and he so deserves this chance!

Axel's story: Axel came to AmsterDog Rescue a couple of years ago when he was at an overcrowded city shelter (Animal Care Center of New York) and became at risk for euthanasia. Luckily, fostering saves lives and someone stepped up for Axel, but he has been waiting for his forever home since. In fact, it was so long ago, we are beginning to suspect everyone has forgotten about him :( He is a young dog at four years old and has so much zest & love for life! His handsome eyes sparkle as he looks at you adoringly, his fur is so soft and smooth when you pet him. Please consider making a donation to save Axel.

Wonka Blue Needs Your Support
Help Wonka Blue Along His Healing Path...

Rescue dogs can't catch a break! Poor Wonka is having neurological issues, affecting how he moves his legs and causing him trouble when walking. With extensive diagnostics, his veterinary team recommended an MRI, which is not cheap! Wanting to give Wonka the best quality of life, we of course obliged, but he needs more care and/or surgery in the near future. The specialists have found a substantial lesion along his spine, which could definitely be causing his lameness. Thankfully, Wonka is in a loving foster home that dotes on him and provides the supportive care he needs. Can you help us make sure that Wonka gets every ounce of medical care that he needs, too?

Wonka Blue is receiving specialized care at Guardian Vet Specialists at 4 Hardscrabble Heights, Brewster, NY 10509. Please see the attached pictures for his medical bills and imaging. His total bill is $2,853.

Wonka's story: Poor Wonka was found as a skinny stray on the city streets and brought to the Animal Care Centers of NY. The stress of the shelter exacerbated his underlying medical issues, where he displayed difficulty walking and even collapsed multiple times. Because of his medical issues, Wonka was at risk for euthanasia. He was rescued in May 2024. After being rescued, initial vet visits ruled out other causes (e.g., injury) and luckily Wonka found a dedicated foster and some great foster siblings to snuggle with. Wonka wasn't dealt a very fair hand in life, but AmsterDog Rescue is determined to make the rest of his life, the BEST of his life!

Help Fulton Heal from Trauma and Find Love
Please help us raise funding for Fulton a wonderful boy who’s had such a rough time of it, and who still needs to heal from the trauma of the past two years. Fulton was found alone and emaciated on a subway car in New York City. Thanks to the compassion of a woman on the train he was rescued and brought to a foster parent. But things did not turn out so well for him and we are still fighting for this beautiful misunderstood soul who needs our help.

A group of compassionate women immediately coalesced around this boy who stole all of our hearts. We stayed with him all day, calling everyone we knew, until when we were almost out of hope we found an angel to take him for the night.

One night turned into a weekend, and then into a week, and then into months. But she could no longer keep him due to health issues, and we had to find him another placement.

I cannot speak to what happened next, but what I can say is that in the following months Fulton experienced unbearable trauma. This extremely sensitive and protective boy witnessed events and experienced things that set him into a spiral of what I can only describe as despair.

He is finally in a safe place, but his trauma is deep. It may sound strange to some, but I know his heart. Those of us who rallied around him that day, ALL of us know his heart.

Your dollars will go directly into keeping him safe, finding him a very special person who can work with him for as long as he needs to help his beautiful little soul heal.

Give Senior Dog Link a Second Chance
LINK NEEDS YOUR HELP!

Rescue dogs can't catch a break! Poor Link wants to enjoy his second chance at life, but this pesky mass in his abdomen is getting in the way! Link is also cryptorchid, meaning he needs a more complicated procedure (an actual surgery) to be neutered. He needs xrays, a consultation, a biopsy, and follow up care as well as the surgery itself. Being a small senior and the status of the mass unknown, Link faces an uncertain fate, but with your help we can make sure he has the best chance to make it to the happy life on the other side of this!

Link is receiving veterinary care at Pieper Olson Veterinary Hospital at 730 Randolph Rd in Middletown, CT. Please see our first update for a copy of his bill.

Link's story: Just a small little fluff trying to get by as a stray, senior Link was found wandering around the big, bustling city and brought to the Animal Care Centers of New York. There, he was at risk for euthanasia due to his medical needs - he was also understandably frightened! Shelter staff realized Link needed out of the shelter as fast as possible and put out a plea - thankfully a wonderful family in Connecticut opened their hearts & homes to Link and AmsterDog Rescue was able to pull him. Now, he has been surrounded by love and wears the trendiest sweaters & outfits! Lovingly named Toby, they are dedicated to his care and will pamper & love him for the rest of his life - however long they have with him.

7 lb Link says it is OK to be small - every donation is deeply appreciated. Even $5 shows this patient, loving good boy that he matters, too.

Cane Needs Emergency Services After Rescue
CANE NEEDS YOUR HELP!

Poor Cane wants to enjoy his second chance at life, but instead he needs to go to the emergency vet!

Cane is receiving veterinary care at Animal Emergency Center at 395 Susquehana Trail, Watsontown, PA. Please see our first update for a copy of his bill.

Cane's Story: Cane's world was shattered when his owner abandoned him at the shelter and Cane lost the only home he had ever known. He didn't understand why - he got along with other dogs on walks and lived with a 5 year old child. At the shelter, Cane was downright terrified and terribly stressed out. He began to act out and quickly found himself on the At Risk for euthanasia list within a couple weeks - which is not long enough for some dogs to adjust, anyways! Statistically, dogs like Cane are the least likely to be adopted - a black pitbull mix with stress-behaviors stands almost no chance in an overcrowded city shelter. Thankfully, we were able to rescue Cane because fostering saves lives! Before leaving the shelter, Cane was neutered and just as he was settling in with his very own bed and very own toys, the stitches from his surgery became undone, causing concerning bleeding and risk of infection. Cane needs to get patched up while being a bit sedated too, due this being such a sensitive area.

In recent times, the cost of proper and urgent veterinary care has skyrocketed and all this is $1,389. Sadly, we already had 2 other urgent medical cases this month (also here on GoFundMe) and we really need to ask for help to give Cane his best chance in his new home. Please show Cane that he matters and donate!

Please Help ZuperZorra & Foxy Heal
Zorra and Foxy are two very special pups both facing serious medical conditions when AmsterDog recently rescued them from the NYCACC. Zorra had been hit by a car and was facing hind paralysis, and Foxy had a large growth in and behind her eye that was potentially cancerous. The combined costs of special surgeries for both dogs have been astronomical, and now AmsterDog is faced with well over $16,000 in medical bills.

Both Zorra and Foxy are wonderful dogs who, despite having come from hardship, have an enormous will to overcome their difficulties and live a terrific life. But they need YOUR help - we can not do this without you! Please read their stories below, and if you can find it in your heart to donate any gift -- large or small -- it will make a huge difference!

My name is ZuperZorra. They found me curled on the floor of my cage at the shelter trying to hold myself up by my front legs delerious with pain.

Here I am -- a beautiful 3 - 5 year old black lab, pittie, boxer mix with my whole life ahead of me in a shelter cage paralyzed by a hit-and-run driver. I have bleeding wounds on my legs from trying to drag myself to safety after I was hit and left paralyzed.

AmsterDog's volunteer driver Walter picked me up at the shelter, and he told me that day was the first day of the rest of my life. I was on a lot of pain meds, but I believed Walter; he seemed like a great guy. Upon arriving at the hospital, I was put on a stretcher and wheeled into the emergency room. The nurses immediately took me into the ICU level 2. I was admitted and the next morning the tests started - MRIs, CT scans, blood work, etc. WHY CAN'T I WALK?!

I needed emergency spinal surgery - my spine suffered trauma and my vertebrae were fractured and continuing to move which were causing ongoing trauma to my spine. I needed 2 plates and multiple screws into my vertebrae immediately, as is necessary with spinal injuries to preserve the chances of being able to walk again. The surgery took 5.5 hours and the doctors miraculously were able to align some of my spine before inserting the screws.

In addition, I have multiple breaks in my hip and legs. One may heal naturally, but the others will need orthopaedic surgery in a few months.

Finally, I was able to go home with my loving foster family and settled in over a couple of days to find myself back in another ICU. I had come down with a very serious case of pneumonia for which the treatment involved dual IV antibiotics, 3 days of oxygen treatments and therapies before I was stable enough to return home.

I have the most loving foster home; they take care of me, it is ok when I have accidents, they sit in the shower with me to help cure my pneumonia and they love me so much every day. I get hugs and kisses and their love empowers me to heal more. I am so so strong - I want to beat this - I WANT TO WALK AGAIN! PLEASE HELP pay for my medical care. The bills are over $15,000 just for my spinal surgery and my bout of pneumonia. AmsterDog has been able to raise from their generous supporters around $7,000 of the $15,000. Thanks to those who have donated to my care so far! Lean-ins (doggie hugs) and sloppy kisses to you all!

Hi, I'm Foxy - a 5 year old pitbull mix with a serious eye . I was abandoned by my owners and found myself on the 'At Risk' list at the New York City Animal Care Center in Manhattan.

Thankfully, a former US Marine who completed 3 tours of duty overseas and is now struggling with the effects of PTSD had been considering adopting an emotional support dog. After all that she'd been through, my story really touched her heart and she knew that I was the dog for her.

AmsterDog Rescue was able to assist by helping free me from the shelter and arranging for me to be united with my new family. I have been diagnosed with peri orbital adenoma. I need surgery & reconstructive work because of the size of the tumor and location on my face.

On top of my eye condition, which was neglected by my previous owners, it was discovered that I was pregnant when I was left at the shelter!

Now that I've completed nursing and my pups have all been placed in forever homes, I was finally able to see a doctor to find out what the growth on my eye is and whether it's life-threatening and operable. Good news: not life threatening, bads news: I need surgery and it costs over $7,000.

Foxy already survived years of medical neglect and abandonment by her family in a crowded shelter from which she miraculously escaped death, gave birth to a litter of puppies which further delayed her medical care, only to find a loving home with a veteran and now finds herself facing a life-threatening condition because it had been neglected for years.
