Dear Supporters of Amherst Community Connections,
Just want to give you a quick update. Back in February this year, we reported that one of our participants--let us call him Ben, got stuck here after coming from Arizona to visit his ailing father with his golden retriever, Willie. Unfortunately, his dad passed away during his visit and Ben got Covid-19. He became homeless because he had to spend all his travel money on motel while recovering from Covid.
Thanks to your help, Ben’s life has stabilized. He decided to stay in this area. Yesterday, he FINALLY moved into his apartment after spending the last three months sleeping in the car with his dog, Willie. While we were signing the lease, I overheard from Ben, “Willie, we are going to have a home! How sweet! You will get a good bath FIRST!”
Your donations to GoFundMe have helped ACC rent a place for Ben and his dog. Willie now has a fenced-in yard to play catch and will get a bath when he gest dirty. Both of them have a roof over their heads! I want to thank you for your donations to ACC so we can help make this happen!

Ben has a special skill doing engraving. He used to work in a plastic company and a metal company. While he is looking for work fervently, would you help make sure he is firmly settled here? We want to make sure Willie has his dog food and that Ben can have gas to go to work. Before the first pay check comes in, ACC hopes to help a bit with the next month’s rent.
