Nothing like a harmless family bet turned fundraiser!
After my 7 year old son took me up on a bet to let me shave his head into a bowl cut, my son challenged me to shave my head into a Mohawk. I, of course, took him up on the challenge with every intention to shave the hawk off the next day. However, after much coercing from my family and coworkers, I decided why not "rock my hawk" for a cause!
So I'm inviting you all to join me in making a difference. I am raising money to benefit America's Kids Belong. If $3000 is raised within the next 2 weeks, I will continue to grow the hawk until August 1st. If the goal is not met after two weeks, you can say goodbye to the hawk. However, if this goal is exceeded, I have agreed to keep the hawk an additional day for every $100 raised over $3000.
Thank you so much in advance for helping make a difference in the lives of these kids! Please see below for more information regarding the non-profit organization America's Kids Belong.
Information about America's Kids Belong: America's Kids Belong empowers leaders in government, faith-based, business, and creative sectors to end the crisis for kids in foster care - state by state. We run innovative initiatives in states to help ensure that every child is in a loving home by: recruiting more foster and adoptive families, engaging wrap-around support for at-risk, foster and adoptive families along the way, and helping youth who have aged out without a family reach their full potential.
