Support AFCSL 45th Season with their Pride Plaza Donor Paver
America’s Finest City Softball League (AFCSL), San Diego’s softball league dedicated to the 2SLGBTQ+ community, is seeking support to permanently display our league’s name at the Normal Street Promenade and Pride Plaza. Founded in 1981, we are San Diego’s oldest recreational softball league, boasting nearly 40 teams and over 600 players, managers, and coaches. As a result, we are also San Diego’s largest softball league and the largest 2SLGBTQ+ sporting league.
The 45th Season of our 2SLGBTQ+ softball season aims to raise funds for this initiative by purchasing a paver engraved with our league’s name. This new public space in Hillcrest, set to be completed in 2026, will serve as a gathering place for the community. The proceeds from the pavers will cover amenities not included in the construction budget, such as seating, gardening services, and equipment. Additionally, the Friends of the Promenade nonprofit will be established to manage and operate the plaza. Notably, the City and SANDAG have not allocated funds for ongoing maintenance, making community contributions crucial. Your donation will help us secure this paver, ensuring that everyone can remember this special 45th season.
