Hello everybody, I’m Woogie Mason, a multi-instrumentalist and solo artist born in Detroit, Michigan. In an effort to raise money for the Detroit Michigan branch of American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), I’ve decided to try and kill two birds with one stone with this fundraiser.
This fundraiser first raises funds to press vinyl records of my first and last single, as a solo artist “Thinking about you.”.
The production is going to be limited to no more than 500 copies, which will be pressed in a green and purple tie-dye, with a sleeve and full color, gloss jacket, including the original artwork, which can be seen on Spotify, iTunes, or any other streaming platform.
All profits from proceeds on pre-order record sales will go to the American Civil Liberties Union. If you’re not familiar with the ACLU, their cause is to unite people for the purpose of equality no matter an individual’s race, age, sex, gender, heritage, religion, nationality, or creed.
we must get a minimum of 250 preorder donations to go through with the project. If we don’t reach that minimum, we will be donating all proceeds to the ACLU. If we do reach the minimum amount you can expect to receive your order in roughly 60 to 90 days because they have a four week to six week turnaround time to press the vinyl records.
I won’t be making a penny on this fundraiser, personally; nor, from the pre-order record sales. I would normally fund this project myself; however, my injuries have left me unable to bear that cost financially.
My injuries first happened when I was rear-ended on the 70 mph highway I-96 by a drunk driver going well around 110 mph, which nearly killed me, as I was going the speed limit. That near death incident happened on December 20th of 2023 and was the first of two injuries. Eleven months later, I was re-injured in the same areas of my body, when unsafe work conditions led me to become injured for a second time, only this time, it was on the job. This second injury happened on November 14th of this past year, 2024.
Because of these injuries, my work restrictions have made my normal finances a struggle in and of themselves, and with the money that I have already have had to spend to record, and to register my song with distributors and to secure the copyrights and the ownership rights of the music and intellectual property, I simply don’t have enough personal finances to carry the project with my own funds any longer.
So, with that being said, if you would like to own your own personal copy of my single, “Thinking About You”, in a limited one-time green and purple tie dye vinyl pressing, your $22 donation will kill both birds, helping spread my music and backing a great cause. Your $22 donation will cover all the costs of the production and pressing of the records as well as shipping costs to the lower 48 states. If you’re not in the USA, there will be a $40 option for a donation which includes costs for overseas shipping of the same record. And again all profit from the proceeds of the pre-order sales will go to the ACLU, which will help them help even more people who are in situations where they need someone to step in and help them out of a disadvantaged situation. You can also donate lower amounts, if you just feel like donating. If you do donate enough for a pre-order, please contact me with your shipping address which I will compile into a database for once records are pressed if our minimum donation amount is reached.
So if you love music, if you love Detroit, if you love my songs, if you love the ACLU, equality, or even if you just love vinyl records, your donation can make a difference and you can help do something meaningful and altruistic . And as far as making a difference goes, anyone who knows me knows that my music is going to make a difference too. With a donation and preorder, you can help pave the way for the next step in my music career. You can help me shed my skin and move to the next big thing in my life. It’s coming soon, it’s going to be the end of Woogie Mason and the start of “The Godhead And Me.”
