To expand access to compassionate, high-quality veterinary care so pets can live longer, healthier lives while preserving the human–animal bond that supports families and emotional well-being. For many families, pets are companions, emotional support, and family members — especially for seniors, individuals living alone, in stressful situations, during illness, or hardship. When a pet faces a medical emergency, the cost can be overwhelming. Too often, families are forced into heartbreaking decisions, including euthanasia, simply because treatment is financially out of reach. The loss of a beloved pet under these circumstances can leave lasting emotional trauma, grief, guilt, and a deep sense of loss that affects mental health and family stability. APWF works to prevent those outcomes.
