Emergency Surgery for Bagel
We rescued Bagel from a shelter late last week. She was in respiratory distress and suffering from a diaphragmatic hernia. She was evaluated by VCA Wrightsville Beach and correct her severe diaphragmatic hernia, which is where all internal organs are pushed into the chest cavity. Her X-rays also showed a previous femur fracture so she likely got the hernia from trauma, possibly from abuse or a car accident.
She is having her surgery this afternoon by Dr Pfeffer at East Carolina Vet Referral, 50 Greenville ave, Wilmington NC. Realistically, her chances of survival are about 50%, but she is such a little sweetheart and deserves a chance just like everyone else. She is one year old and despite everything, she is still purring like crazy. We know these are difficult times, but if you able to contribute even a little, it would go a long way for Bagel and All 4 Cats.
All 4 Cats is an all-volunteer, 501c3 no kill rescue located in North Carolina. Every penny you donate goes straight to the cats!
