Alaska Dive Search Rescue and Recovery Team

The AK Dive Rescue's boat recently suffered a catastrophic structural failure making it inoperable for search and recovery missions during a recent recovery mission on Big Lake. The team is in need of a boat like a Hewes Craft 22’ Ocean Pro Hard Top or Sea Runner Hard Top- a boat that is safe in the ocean and lakes that can provide us with a covered area to get out of the weather and protect the computers we use to run the sonar units for hours at a time (up to 15 hours a day without a brake on some missions). We need a large deck space to deploy and recover up to three divers, run sonar as well as recover evidence or remains. The boat also needs to be aluminum because of the added durability and the need to bring it to the shore away from docks during some missions.

A replacement boat is critical to allow the team to continue to bring closure to families.

As a donation funded, unpaid, all volunteer 501(c)(3) Non Profit that responds throughout Alaska, it is only through your support we can continue to assist those in need and bring closure to families. 99% of all of your donations go into maintaining, repairing and replacing rescue equipment. Every volunteer pays for their own training, some equipment and donates their time. During missions we leave our jobs (without pay) and families for sometimes weeks at a time to assist others in need.
