Run for Aisling Irish Center: Young @ Heart Seniors Program
Hi everyone!
This November, I will be taking part in the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon on behalf of the fantastic Aisling Irish Centre in New York.
The Aisling Centre, based in Yonkers, is at the heart of the Irish community in New York. It does amazing work for immigrants from the island of Ireland, both young and old. It acts as an important first stop for those who need help or assistance in adjusting to life away from home. It has become a second home to many and is a place where the needs of the community are met with Ireland never feeling too far away.
Whilst the Aisling Irish Centre offers many services and programs, I have chosen to run on behalf of their 'Young @ Heart' Senior Program. This is a program that gives our seniors a continued sense of community and belonging in a home away from home.
As an Irish person living in New York and also as the granddaughter of Irish immigrants, I firsthand understand and value the importance of Irish community and support away from home. Please help me in raising funds for the Aisling Centre so they can continue to provide this community and support. Your donations are greatly appreciated!
