Help Tigray War Victims
Since the start of the war in Tigray three month ago, cities and towns have been pillaged, monasteries, churches, and mosques have been desecrated and destroyed; villages have been burned to the ground; animals have been slaughtered; and millions of people, mostly women and children have been forced to seek shelter in the ragged mountains and hills of Tigray. As a result, many people are dying due to lack of food and basic medicine.
In light of the tragic situation the Catholic Church in Adigrat called for emergency aid to save the lives of millions affected by the ongoing war. People are dying due to lack of food and basic medicine and underscores the urgent need for humanitarian emergency response by national and international donors to save the lives of millions of people. The letter also stated the Church’s readiness to work with donors to respond to the crisis.
The ASAA-NA Board has deliberated on how to respond to the call for emergency response and decided to hold a fundraising virtual conference on February 6, 2021 at 6:00 PM ET.
ASAA-NA invites you to reach out to those afflicted by the ongoing war in Tigray, Ethiopia who are in desperate need of food, medicine and other basic services.
