Aerie Africa

We are doing a special fundraiser to help Benjy, a college student from West Chester University, return to Ethiopia this summer to teach English, tutor students, and support summer programming. He is giving his time for free and just needs help covering his travel costs. Any funds raised beyond his travel costs will go directly toward books, library improvements, and equipment for extracurricular activities.

For our students in Ethiopia, English language skills can connect them to the outside world and expand their access to educational and employment opportunities. Having someone in that classroom whom they genuinely love and trust will significantly improve outcomes.

Hi everyone! A group of volunteers will be visiting our Aerie Africa home in Soddo, Ethiopia this August. Aerie is a home for over 50 children. While we are there spending time with our kids, we will be updating the bathrooms (new paint, new tiles, new fixtures) and building a new a picnic area - a hang out for our teenagers. We are raising money to help fund these projects that we will oversee. Any amount you can give goes a long way and is greatly appreciated by Aerie and our kids!

The mission of Aerie Africa is to provide, for orphans and vulnerable children, a safe, loving and nurturing home, where each child can grow healthy within a supportive community, gain education and employable skills, and develop into confident, productive and integrated members of society. We are a family!

Please help us better our home for our orphaned and vulnerable children of Aerie Africa (located in Soddo, Ethiopia https://aerieafrica.org/) . The 50+ children that live as a family in our home need new lockers to maintain their belongings, better beds, and new desks and chairs to study - education is key to their success. We're also working to better our technology at our home to further their education with updated computers and Wifi access. After the pandemic and the conflict in Ethiopia, our home needs repairs and upgrades, and most importantly we're starting with our children's rooms and library.

Our volunteers are headed to Soddo in June and July this summer to be with our kids and to work to better the home. Please help us make our volunteer missions a success by donating to help us improve our bedrooms! - Jen, Tyndie & Aerie Africa

On March 12, I will be headed to Southern Ethiopia with Rohan Shah and three other students to volunteer for Aerie Africa, a non-profit organization that helps orphaned & vulnerable youth. Aerie Africa is a forever family and permanent home for 68 children and young adults aged 4 through 26 years. We are raising funds to restore their soccer field and a volleyball court and introduce ping pong and gaga. We will use the money we receive to purchase soccer & volleyball nets, a ping pong table, and the supplies to build a gaga pit. We are excited to make new friends and hopefully leave their home with new and improved spaces to enjoy their favorite sport and have fun! If we exceed our goal, we will use the additional funds to make much-needed home repairs and take the kids on a field trip! Thank you!!!
