About Adopt A Husky, Inc.

Adopt A Husky, Inc., founded in 1998, is a group of volunteers dedicated to the need for rehoming the ever-increasing number of abandoned and stray Siberian Huskies. Working with shelters and animal control facilities in Wisconsin, Illinois and northwest Indiana, our organization takes these abandoned dogs, places them in foster homes where they are evaluated for temperament, nurtured and provided with top medical care. AAHI has also stepped in with special needs cases in other states and assisted other breed rescues with special needs. All dogs receive all vaccinations, are spayed/neutered, tested negative for heartworm, placed on preventative and are microchipped for identification. We have treated dogs with critical illnesses along with dogs hit by cars with broken legs, jaws, shattered hips, broken pelvises and some requiring removal of an eye. We educate the public toward the goal that no Siberian ends up in rescue due to lack of knowledge about the unique needs of this high energy breed.
