A Breath for Alessandra

Dear Supporters,

September is known as the "Asthma Peak Month " and brings a number of asthma triggers that cause asthma attacks, emergency room visits, hospital stays or worse, more than any other time during the year.

Because of this, I am launching this GoFundMe campaign to support A Breath for Alessandra (ABFA), a remarkable charity that was started in New Jersey and is expanding. Founded in memory of our daughter Alessandra Del Principe, ABFA is dedicated to helping those affected by asthma and other health conditions. Through awareness initiatives and financial aid, ABFA is creating a legacy of hope for individuals and families in need. Please read their stories.

In addition to helping individuals with financial support, our mission is to see the passage of Alessandra's Law . The bill is named in memory of our daughter who succumbed to a medical emergency at her sister's wedding. The bill focuses on having Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) present at large gatherings to provide immediate onsite medical assistance if needed. For events larger than 1,000 people, Alessandra's Law would mandate an EMT be present at the event. For gatherings smaller than 1,000 people, the law would require that venues notify patrons of the ability to hire EMTs.
