Brother Ethan Schmidt, a Junior at University of Georgia and a member of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity, lost his mother Dawn Schmidt on February 17th, 2023. To honor Ethan's mother we have started a GoFundMe. Dawn was a loving mother who always went above and beyond to care for her family. To best honor Dawn's memory her family have chosen donations to go to 4PawsForAbility, an organization that trains service dogs for
children and adults in need. Dawn's love for animals and others was prevalent, and being able to support struggling families by helping them get a life changing Service Dog is something we greatly look forward to doing in her honor.
This organization is one that is near and dear to the families heart. Ethan's little cousin Faith Ellen is autistic and nonverbal. They are one of the many families who have a service dog from 4 Paws. Over the years they have been able to see how the gift of a service animal has impacted Faith's quality of life, providing safety and increased freedom. Faith's service dog Admiral is trained as a Multipurpose Assistance Dog assisting with behavioral issues that might arise, mobility assistance, seizure alert, and search and rescue. One of Faith's biggest behaviors is running and having a dog that at any moment can jump into action locating her is a truly incredible sight.
