1st Holmes Chapel Scout Group

Noah has been given the opportunity to visit the Kandersteg International Scout Centre in Switzerland this summer.

This is an amazing opportunity for him but he has to raise £1500 to go. Noah has already been hard at work fundraising with his group but still has a way to go to complete his total.

This half term he will be completing a sponsored walk along the Dane Valley Way and has other fundraising activities planned.

Any support you could offer would be hugely appreciated.

In 2026 1st Holmes Chapel Scouts is 100 years old and to celebrate this centenary the group are organising a trip for 50 scouts and adults to visit Kandersteg International Scout Centre.

A great experience to camp in the Swiss Alps with scouts from all over the world, have a once in a lifetime experience, make friends and learn about themselves, others and the world.

Theodore is raising money to go towards his groups trip to Kandersteg and would ask for your kind donations. But he's committing to work for your support....

Having completed a sponsored walk this summer (Theodore walked his share of the 1,622 Mile round trip from Kandersteg International Scout Centre to Holmes Chapel HQ)

We are now raising funds from a table top sale. Funds donated this way go directly to the Holmes Chapel Scouts for Theodores fundraising.

As Scouts we believe in preparing young people with skills for life. We encourage our young people to do more, learn more and be more.

Each Week Holmes Chapel Scout Group give young people of Holmes Chapel and the local area, the opportunity to enjoy fun and adventure while developing the skills they need to succeed.

In 2026 myself I will be working with a group of adults to take 39 Scouts to Kandersteg, the International Scout Centre, in Switzerland. This will be an incredible once in a lifetime experience and will form part of our group's Centenary year celebrations. We will meet Scouts from all over the world, experience a truly international camp, hike the Alps etc!

Over the summer of 2024 the group of young people and adults going on the trip worked together to walk/run/cycle the return journey from Holmes Chapel to Kandersteg, Switzerland (just over 1600 miles!)

However to create an extra challenge for myself I am aiming to walk the distance of the journey from HC to Kandersteg myself (815 miles)!

I started the challenge in July 2024 and hope to complete by summer 2025!

He is going as part of a group of 50 scouts and Adults to camp in the Swiss Alps with scouts from all over the world, have once in a lifetime experiences, make friends and learn about themselves, others and the world.

Holmes Chapel Scout Hut is 811 miles from the Kandersteg International Scout Centre. Each of the Cubs/Scouts have been challenged to hike 32 miles over summer to cover “their part” of the return Journey. Charlie will cover these miles with various hikes over the summer.
