Chanda, Fighting Breast Cancer

Donation protected
My name is Linda Allison.
I have been lucky enough to have a best friend since grade school, in1971.

My best friend, Chanda Gravitt is now fighting for her life against breast cancer.
The medical plan for her is a placement of a central IV Port for 8 weeks of chemotherapy. After that she will have bilateral mastectomies and bilateral removal of her ovaries. Recovery is expected to take at least 6 months.

Chanda, who is amazing and selfless, is a medic in Calhoun, Georgia. She was awarded medic of the year in 2016.

Recently she was able to step away from her role as a first responder, into a hospital emergency room tech position. She loves her new job. But, it’s a new job. She doesn’t have time off saved up, or the benefits that she had before her job change.

Chanda is unable to plan her course of care without wondering how she will pay her bills, keep the lights on and feed her family. Right now, she knows that she must be treated, but doesn’t know how she will pay for it.

I would like to help her pay her medical bills. If any funds remain, they will put gas in the car for doctor visits, and pay those co-pays, and purchase medications. I hope to help her with simple day to day issues, like lights and meals. She will be starting Chemo soon, sometime in the next 2 or 3 weeks. I hope to raise as much as possible in the next 3 months. All funds will go toward Chanda’s bills.

Chanda has been my best friend for 46 years, and in all that time she has never asked for help. She has always been the help; for me, for her church, for her community, for friends and strangers alike. She is a bright light that shows us the best of human kindness.

Any donation is appreciated, large or small, if you wish to help, but cannot donate money, Share this story on your wall, with friends, spreading word is a huge help as well.

2017 has delivered some stunning losses for both of us. It’s been a rough start to a new year.
It would mean so much to me to see my friend taken care of, win her battle and continue her life. I hope to have help in making sure that she gets the treatments needed.
I will be eternally grateful for any help given. I will keep all of you in my heart. The very best thing would be seeing my best friend, who is; wife, mother of 5, grandmother, medic, and goat farmer be well again. Yes, she has 3 goats, and maybe someday, she will be able to make goat cheese!
Even now with this medical crisis right in front of her, she sees the positives, being thankful that it is not any worse. She’s an inspiration to all that know her. Thank you so much for considering a donation.
