Sprint Car Driver Safety Gear

My name is Chad Patterson and I race a 360 sprint car out of the Minneapolis, MN area. I race with the UMSS series (umsprints.com). I grew up watching sprint cars with my dad at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, N.D. I fell in love with the speed and intensity of sprint cars. 

I raced modifieds from 2003-09. My dreams finally came true in 2011 when I started my sprint car career. I’m fortunate to own and drive the car. I have a very supporting wife and a young toddler at home. My dad is my crew chief and my main help around the garage and track. Our team is truly a family affair. 

I am soliciting support to purchase a new custom fire suit to maximize my safety behind the wheel. I currently utilize a custom made fire suit from Awesome Racewear. I’m very happy with it but after three years of racing it needs to be replaced.

I’m not asking for money to keep my car on the track. I will continue to race and keep my car on the track either way. Owning a car and driving creates many challenges but it is a constant struggle between want, need, and safety.
