Chad LaClair Cancer Treatment

Update:  For the past year, Chad LaClair has been bravely battling cancer.  He just received his second stem cell transplant and still faces an uphill battle. Now home from the hospital, Chad needs round-the-clock care, meals and transportation to and from his doctor’s appointments.  We had to increase the goal of this fundraiser because Chad is still not able to work and his bills, rent and medical expenses are adding up.  If you could please donate to help him out at this difficult time, it would be greatly appreciated.  Any little bit helps, since we needed to raise his funding goal in order to help him get through the next few months of treatment and recovery.



Back Story:  In October of 2018, Chad Schuyler LaClair was diagnosed with Stage 3B testicular cancer.  For three months, he underwent chemotherapy treatment and was declared cancer-free in January.  A few weeks later, he started feeling pain in his lower back again, and was then told the cancer had returned in a much more aggressive form.  In February of 2019, tests confirmed the cancer had spread to his lymph nodes, kidneys and other organs and he would have to once again undergo months of chemotherapy. 



Since February, Chad has been in and out of the hospital every other week to receive chemotherapy, which always ends with him coming down with infections that land him back in the hospital on his off-weeks from treatment.  Recently, Chad has had to go on dialysis, as his kidneys are being heavily taxed by the chemotherapy.  He has also been in and out of the ICU due to the that fact that he has been having seizures. 



This all culminated with Chad’s medical teams deciding it was in his best interest for him to have two stem cell procedures to try and rid his body of cancer, which has been extremely taxing on his body and spirt to say the least.
