HELP CHABAD OF CALABASAS

IN CASE YOU DID'T KNOW, CALABASAS MASSIVE FIRE STRONGLY AFFECTED CHABAD of CALABASAS and the FRIEDMAN HOME.

The evacuation order had been lifted by Monday, June 6, but Rabbi Friedman and his family are still not back home.

“There was no doubt in his mind about what to do, when Rabbi Eli Friedman saw flames he estimated to be 30 or 40 feet high barreling down the hill behind Chabad of Calabasas on the afternoon of June 4. Even though it was Shabbat, he and his family piled into their car and drove away.” - The Jewish Journal

The flames that engulfed much of the property were ultimately extinguished by heroic firefighters a few feet short of the structure.

The fire quickly spread above their home. The house next to their property (the oldest home in Calabasas) was ravaged by the fire. What would have happened if the house was not saved? How quickly would the fire have spread to many other homes in such close proximity to one another?

Chabad of Calabasas is standing strong! Is it a miracle that saved our Shul? Or is it a miracle that our shul saved Calabasas? Perhaps both.

Rabbi Friedman and Shayni are greatful their home was saved. The damage to the property is considerable and they will need many things we take for granted. A lot of repair will need to be done before they can get back to normal.

Chabad of Calabasas has been here and supported families in our community in their time of need. It is time for us to support them in their time of need.

This is not a fundraiser for Chabad of Calabasas alone. This is supporting a very dear family in our community in difficult times.

It is helping a man to look into his family's eyes and telling them that the people we serve are united and eager to help back when we need it.

It is for a husband to tell his wife, it will be OK.

It is for us to say, we are here for you Rabbi, and we care and appreciate all that you do for us.

Please, let us help this family that founded Chabad of Calabasas regain their life as quickly as possible.

Let's unite as members of the Jewish community, as residents of Calabasas, and help our beloved Rabbi Friedman, his beautiful family and the Chabad of Calabasas.
