Shabat Nachamu Without Rockets
Attention: Besides this online campaign we have already raised $6000 directly through Jerusalem fellowships!
Families in Southern Israel are being tortured living under rocket fire. This Shabbat Nachamu, Aug. 8th, help them enjoy a Shabbat of nechama (comfort), peace and healing. Project Nachamu Ami with the partnership of Aish HaTorah Jerusalem Fellowships aims to bring families from Southern Israel to hotels in Jerusalem for a peaceful Shabbat retreat. You and other Friends of Israel from all over the globe can adopt a family from Southern Israel and give that family a Shabbat retreat in Jerusalem which will be a true Shabbat Nachamu (of comfort). The complete cost to sponsor a family (including hotel and meals) from Southern Israel to a full Shabbat Nachamu retreat in Jerusalem is $475 - any size donation is appreciated. The more money we raise, the more families we will bring and any additional money will be used to bring additional families the following Shabbat.
Two exciting new developments:
1) Old City residents heard about what we are doing and are volunteering to move out of their apartments so we can host even more families (in addition to those who will be staying in Hotels)
2) There will be a giant "Unity Shalosh Seudot" (third meal) at a banquet hall across from the Western Wall, where Jerusalem residents will be invited to join the visiting families and show their love and support to the families of southern Israel.
Aish Jerusalem Fellowships is a non-profit 501c and all donations are tax deductable.
Late Shabbat afternoon the familes were invited to guided tours of the Old City. Then came the finale! Everyone gathered together in the magnificent Aish HaTorah banquet hall accros from the Kotel for Seudat Shlishit. Jews from accros the spectrum, Dati LeUmi, Chiloni, Charedi all gathered together to show our support for one another. The theme of the evening was chesed and unity - we are 1 nation with 1 heart - and the strength of Am Yisrael is in our unity. If we always care for one another we will accomplish great things.
As Shabbat ended we made our way up to the famous Aish HaTorah rooftop with a breathtaking view of the Kotel. Singer Aharon Razel treated everyone to a musical havdala and then a concert which was so enjoyable and inspirational. His song "HiGiya Zman HaGeula" - the time for redemption has come, was a crowd favorite.
Shabbat was incredible. The families were so so happy. May all the achdut, chesed and inspirtaion lead us to see the "Zman HaGeula" - the time of redemption - very very soon.
Thank you to all those who made this incredible Shabbat a reality!
Upon arrival they enjoyed a carnival with balloon animals, inflatable bouncy things, popcorn and cotton candy machines and they got to enjoy the famous Kotel Tunnel Tours. The families were so happy and appreciative! And this is just the beginning.....
Stay tuned for pictures......
We are so happy to be able to show our support and treat them to a beutiful and peaceful Shabbat retreat after they have suffered so much from Hamas rockets.
This is the last opportunity to "adopt" a family from the south and provide them with a beautiful Shabbat Nachamu Without Rockets.
If we find 4 more people to "adopt" a family we will reach our fundraising goal.
When the Kotel Tunnel Tour heard about "Shabbat Without Rockets" they also wanted to participate and are providing multiple tours on Friday for the families after they arrive.
This has really turned into something incredible. What a beautiful way to show our love and support for our brothers and sisters in Southern Israel.
We are so thankful for all the support that was recieved.
We are so close to our fundraising goal. If we can find just 8 more people who will "adopt"a family from the south we would hit our goal and would be able to provide a beautiful Shabbat retreat.
Please forward this to someone who you think would want to be one of the final 8 people to participate in Shabbat Nachamu Without Rockets.
The support shown has been incredible and we are even closer to our goal. Thank you so much.
We still need some more funds to make this Shabbat as great as possible, so please think of a few people who you think would appreciate "adopting" a family from the south and forward them the link so they can also provide a family from the South with a beautiful Shabbat Nachamu Without Rockets.
