Cersei is my sphynx cat who is 3 years old. She is a very sweet and friendly girl. The reason I got a hairless kitty is because I suffer from a combination of genetic respiratory disorders and I am sensitive to dust and animal dander. I am disabled and unable to work full time, and right now I am in school full time starting clinical and unable to work in addition to this because my health deteriorates very rapidly when I am stretched too thin. I am contributing all money I get from my musical project Ulvesang so far to cover the vet bills, but it isn’t enough to pay the full amount.
Cersei has had some issues and sensitivities in her past. She has food allergies that we finally fixed by switching her to a very limited ingredient kibble. She also had a nail infection recently that I treated at home with salt baths and saline rinses.
Recently, just on Saturday, Cersei became violently ill with severe diarrhea and vomiting. She ended up needing to be hospitalized due to dehydration. She is not interested in food or water yet, and is at the ER vet receiving IV fluids and IV medications since she didn’t want to take anything by mouth. They are not sure yet what exactly is wrong with her.
I am fundraising more money so I can afford to keep her in the hospital longer. So far the tests and meds she has received have already totalled $1100, which is basically all of my musical earnings from Ulvesang. I hope that friends, family, acquaintances and even strangers can help me and my girl get through this time. Due to my disabilities, I won’t be having children and so she is really like a daughter to me. I can’t imagine my life without her by my side. I love you, Cersei.
