Almost every high school or city in Connecticut has a high school track facility stocked with the necessary equipment to host a middle school and/or high school Track & Field meet. Hundreds of student-athletes compete on various Track & Field teams at the middle school and high school levels in Bridgeport, CT, but none of these athletes have that opportunity. While Bridgeport is the most populous city in the state of Connecticut, none of the high schools have a fully equipped facility to host a track meet. This reality doesn't need exist. Let's be a part of the solution.
Kennedy Stadium, located on the campus of Bridgeport Central High School, is one of the largest stadiums in Connecticut. Despite this, it lacks essential equipment to host track meets. With the necessary funding for jumps equipment, timing systems, and hurdles, hundreds of student-athletes from Bridgeport, CT can experience the joy of racing on their home track that almost ALL other cities/high schools in Fairfield County and CT have the privilege of.
This organization, the Central Running Club, hopes to partner with other organizations to remedy this situation. Additionally, the club will continue to support the needs of the Central cross country and track & field student-athletes, as well as help to improve the facilities in the weight room for all Central student-athletes.
