I am a nurse, long time experienced animal owner and foster for a local rescue Va PawsforPits. I have the setup with 10x10 indoor kennels just for the purpose of helping as many furbabies as I can. These girls were not taken on by the rescue;I acquired them by other means as noted below. Any donations are greatly appreciated whether financial or supplies. I can provide references and my veterinarian can verify my identity and purpose for those who do not know me. I have donated to many in need and now I'm asking for help. I have a dogs of my own, one in which just had a total hip replacement so I could use any support given. .
Furbabie Lovers I need your help! I will be picking up 2 female Shelties tomorrow that are in need of vet care and supplies. Yesterday I overheard a conversation that I could not ignore; a precious little lady worried and having to make one of the most heartwrenching decisions of her life. She has 2 beautiful Shelties that she has no other choice but to turn over to the shelter because she is terminally ill and can no longer care for them. She has been ill for some time and has done the best she could; these girls were dearly loved. Seeing the love in her eyes and hearing it in her voice as she talked about them, I couldn't walk away from her without reaching out to help. I offered to take her babies and care for them until I could find them perfect homes. I assured her I would be very careful in placing them and I would only place them in a loving forever home. I will never forget the smile on her face and the peace in her eyes knowing they were going to be taken care of. I hoped to be able to set up a visit once the girls were all cleaned up and checked by the vet but this precious fragile soul unexpectedly passed away early this morning. I made a promise that I will absolutely keep. I am going to take them to the vet tomorrow as they are not UTD on vaccines; the one girl is probably 14-15 years old and is obese, she will need over weight management food which is approximately 78.00 for a 32lb bag . She appears to have both vision and hearing loss, her nails are so long they are curled badly; this along with her obesity causes her to struggle walking and she lays in one spot most of the time; her teeth are in bad shape as well. Blood work really needs to be done on both to see if we have any underlying issues. The younger girl approximately 3 years old and needs the same as her sister; her nails are also long but not as badly; but hopefully they will check out good tomorrow . Doggie donations of food, blankets, dog beds and bowls are needed as well as financial help toward their vetting tomorrow .
