Cabin in the Woods

Tax deductible
Nearly 154,000 veterans are homeless on any given night and twice as many experience homelessness during a year. Even here in Northern New England, one of the coldest regions, hundreds of veterans, our hometown heroes who served this country, live on the street or in shelters. Having a home is integral to fostering one's dignity, security and advancement. Through this project, Volunteers of America Northern New England plans to aid our veterans by providing them with permanent cabins and a community that they can call their own.

Volunteers of America Northern New England has opened Cabin in the Woods. 21 energy-efficient homes (16 one bedrooms and 5 two bedrooms) with 4 being ADA accessible, dedicated to maintaining a rustic, wooded aesthetic for each veteran. The on site community emphasizes reuniting families and employment.

Cabin in the Woods will work with local and regional agencies to meet the needs of veterans and their families. Volunteers of America Northern New England's goal is not only to repay veterans for their bravery and service, but to finally provide them with stability and comfort. After serving our country, our veterans deserve more than just a thank you, they deserve a home and a community that will fight for them the way they have fought for us.

Your support is greatly appreciated,

You can also help by purchasing an engraved brick or bench that will be placed at the Cabin in the Woods site: https://www.voanne.org/citw
