CCVSAR Search Dogs need your help!

Donation protected
One day these dogs might rescue you. They need your support today.

CCVSAR needs donations to continue our canine program. We currently have two dogs.  K9 Aspen is who mission ready and a our new trainee K9 Reba.  We are hoping to add a third later this year.

Your donations will provide TRAINING, MEDICAL CARE, and EQUIPMENT for our search dogs.

Tracking instincts and excellent training make dogs essential partners for search and rescue teams. Search dogs can help us find people more quickly, and that means we can get a lost or injured person the help they need. When faced with bad weather or life-threatening injuries, time is of the essence. Well-trained K9 teams buys us that time. Every second saved potentially saves a life.

Today, though, our search dogs need your help.

We're asking people like you for donations to help us fund this vital new search and rescue unit, so we can cover costs such as...

- Canine Medical Insurance. Costing approximately $37 per month for each dog, this insurance helps us ensure that if a dog is injured or has an illness, we can provide proper medical care.
- Canine Search Training.  In addition to internal training we must attend regional K9 workshops. Each class averages $300 plus travel.
- Canine Disaster Training.
Disaters like the OSO have shown us the importaince of having local wilderness search dogs cross trained for disaters.  K9 Aspen has started her NSDA Disater First Responder training.  She need your docations to attend advaced training with national organizations such as the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and National Search Dog Alliance (NSDA).
- Canine Equipment.  Our search dogs need protective equipment like GPS tracking collars, eye/ear protection, booties, life jackets, winter coats, & cooling vests to keep them safe when we are responding to calls for help.

To make our CCVSAR K9 Unit the best it can be, we have established an annual budget of $8,000 per year. That's less than $700 a month to feed, train, and provide the right resources for the rescue dogs that will be coming to the aid of people like you.
