Batman for Change

Donation protected

Greetings everyone, and thank you for taking a moment to check out my page.

My name is Steven H, age 26, and recent grad. Since an early age, I have been wanting to live my life with the goal to try and help others whenever possible, though life can creep up on you pretty fast and soon you find yourself too busy to go out and volunteer. I work as a server and do some freelance videography and photography, along with finishing up college. Needless to say my life was pretty hectic and volunteering wasn't a priority at the time, however, it was always in the back of my mind, so with each paycheck I saved a little bit for when I had finally had the initiative.
Now that I have graduated, I found a bit more time and realized it's time to stop putting off community service, but the big question was what to do next. Where do I go? Who do I work with? How often? It was when all these questions were running through my mind when I heard about the tragic story of the Baltimore Batman, a man who dressed up as a superhero to help Children and bring smile to their faces. It was through tragic event that I was inspired and realized that was something I could do, I could carry out that dream.

With the money that I have saved up (around $3,000), I went and bought a high-grade Batman outfit, cowl, and cape, and started contacting charity organizations to see who would be interested in giving this a shot. After a few months of planning, I now visit the Children's Hospital in St. Paul and plan on going to the one in Minneapolis too, as well as attending different fundraisers for families in need, and entertaining the kids at these events. I would like to extend my reach even farther, going to schools and talk about anti bullying, to show how important charity work is to kids so when they grow up, they may do it as well, and to bring smiles not only to people in Minnesota, but if possible around the U.S. as well.

This is where I need your help, being a recent grad and server at a restaraunt, can only do so much. I'm going to need help from anyone and everyone who is willing to help me in this endeavor.
The money gained from this page will all go towards allowing me to help bring smiles to childrens faces and to hopefully inspire them to also do great things. To me this is not just a temporary moment of happiness that we are giving them, but instead, planting seeds for them to help others in the future as well.

Your money will go to:
- Posters and Cards to hand out to kids (of course signed by Batman)
- Batman accessories for the costume (grappling hook, batarangs, the whole sha-bang!)
- Traveling expenses
Batcycle (You heard right! If the basics are covered for kids and families, I will be slowlyresearching and  working on getting a Batcycle/Batpod Cycle made to bring to the events for kids to look at and take pictures with, however this is a big dream that will take much more than what the current goal asks for)

With your help, we can bring smiles to sick kids and bring a little light into some of their darkest days. We will help fight depression and teach kids about what it takes to be a hero, not a mask, but a heart for helping others.

On behalf of myself and everyone that is touched in someway by this, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Only together can we truly make a difference!

P.S.
I will be keeping this updated to let people know how their donations are helping to change peoples lives!
