Cat Rescue Tri-State Marathon

$27,075 of $30,000 goal

Raised by 321 people in 22 days
On Monday, June 18, I will be running the FIFTH annual New York Cat Hospital Father's Day Marathon. And as sole participant, I may indeed win...again!

I'm running to raise funds for THREE special RESCUE groups:  Frankie's Feline Fund ( http://www.frankiesfelinefund.org), Ready for Rescue ( https://www.readyforrescue.org), and Paws Crossed Animal Rescue ( https://pawscrossedny.org).

These dedicated animal advocates pull ELDERLY, ILL, OR OTHERWISE UNADOPTABLE CATS from the kill lists at area shelters, provide vital medical care, and place them in foster and forever homes. Between them they've saved literally hundreds of loving, wonderful special needs cats from an unnecessary end.

We're dedicating this year's run to sweet, beautiful "Clementine" (pictured above), personally adopted from Paws Crossed.  Initially so shy, timid and withdrawn, she was returned to the shelter multiple times.  But with patience and abundant love, she's blossomed into a confident, affectionate sweetheart.

Following previous "Midnight" and "Manhattan" marathons, this year will be a TRI-STATE MARATHON. I'll start in Fort Lee, NJ, cross the GWB into Manhattan, and head north to Greenwich, CT! Total distance should be a bit over 26.2 miles.  (And yes, this happens the day after Father's Day so I can spend the actual holiday with my family.)

Abandoned at area shelters simply for being old or ill, these special needs cats deserve a chance. Please help support the tireless, good-hearted work of Ready For Rescue, Frankie's Feline Fund, and Paws Crossed with a donation, and SHARE with others on social media!  THANK YOU.

This was a tough one: 30 miles, 90 degrees. But all went well, and donations keep coming in! THANKS to all of you.

The campaign will stay open a few more weeks as we push towards $30K! We can help a lot of senior cats with that money...

So please keep sharing!

THANKS to all of you, we've crushed our goal. Please keep sharing, and let's shoot for $30K! All for a good cause...

Remember, you can follow my progress in real time on Twitter: @peter_soboroff

And a last minute course change: Instead of starting in NJ and running to CT, I'll reverse course and run from CT to NJ. Why? Because that way it's slightly downhill! And it's gonna be hot. (Seriously)
