Cat Care Costs

Donation protected
I've had my sweet diabetic cat for about 14 years named Contessa. I've had the auto-immune disease Rheumatoid Arthritis for 10 years and live on my own in an independent living facility. Up until now, I've been able to handle the care of the cat, including scooping dirty litter and pouring new litter to replace it, feeding her and giving her insulin injections.

On April 25, 2014 I was diagnosed with breast cancer and when I had my surgery on July 24, I had to get a double mastectomy.
I had complications and was re-admitted to the hospital September 4 and got out on the 12th. With this second hospital stay I've had to face the fact that I am just not able to take care of my cat anymore and I'm re-homing her. I can barely take care of myself.

In the meantime between the vet bills, the food, the insulin and the pet care person I've had to pay to take care of my Contessa, the amounts are reaching $500 already and that was just in 30 days. I'm on disability and I'm having to put all these costs on my credit card. I'm also going to have to reimburse the G-dsend who will be driving here from New Jersey and take Contessa to her new home.

It's crushing my soul to re-home my Contessakitty. Having all these bills to pay without having my cat anymore just rubs salt in the wound. It would be one less stress on my mind if I could pay my bills before I have more interest on my debt.

I've never done this before so hopefully I'm doing this right.

Thank you for anything you can help me with.

Sincerely
Karen
