Casey's Recovery

Donation protected
First and foremost I'd like to thank everyone for all thoughts and prayers. My husband Casey Davis was in an horrific vehicle accident on June 08, 2018 with a tractor planter in blackshear, Ga. He was was rushed to the waycross hospital. We met him there where we weren't 100% sure on what we were about to walk in on. Casey's arm had been completely tore off. He had about 3 inches of his left arm left. We learned that there were several people on the scene before the first responders whom ultimately contributed to saving his life! He would have bled out on the scene had god not put these individuals in the right place at the right time to jump into action with quick thinking and working together to save Casey's life and arm. An off duty paramedic just happened to be in line behind the tractor and had a trauma kit in his vehicle and got a turnakit on Casey arm to stop the bleeding. There are several more individuals that helped console Casey and stop the bleeding, he had enough wit in him to tell the individuals call my father and gave them the number and to get his arm on ice! He was denied life flights to Jacksonville 2 times due to weather so he was transported to waycross airport and Angelflighted to the Augusta James M. Still burn center where they just happened to be having seminar with the best microvascular surgeons in the region.  Surgeon Dr. Meer performed his surgery when he arrived in Augusta. He was in surgery from 5 o'clock p.m. until 2:30 a.m.  Although Casey was stable, he had to be ventilated during the process due to the strong sedative they had him on. He had some bone loss so they put steel plates in place. He also has some muscle loss on the underside of his bicep. They removed arteries and veins out of his thighs and nerves from his lower legs to compensate for the nerve loss. They successfully reattached the arm but its ultimately up to the body on whether it nor it survives. He received 28 units of blood throughout the surgery. The surgeons informed us that there was a lot of dirt and gravel in the wound and arm and they tried to clean it as much as they could but they were racing against the clock to get the arm attached and recieving blood, so they told us it will get infected! And that will be another battle for us. But at least they got the arm on and blood flow to it. The arm has a pulse and his fingers are pink. So fingers crossed! He will be going in for a second surgery tomorrow to do some cleaning and muscle reconstruction. It will 10-15 more surgeries over the next few months and even then Casey's arm & life will never be the same again. He is getting sensiThis was a absolutely tragic accident and his life and livlihood will never be the same again. Casey climbed towers for a living,  he loved to go hunting, fishing & spending times with his boys. Its unknown to whether or not he will be able to do any if these things ever again.  The functionality of the arm is unknown and will remain unknown for the next year, year and half.

We've created this GoFundMe page to help compensate with the costs of everything. His wife mother and father have to have a room every night for undetermined amount of time food, travel back and to. We have 2 young boys we are having to need help with.

Like I stated before there will be an unforeseen amount of medical bills and I can't even begin to give an estimate of.  Casey does not have any insurance. This is an overwhelming process and we are just needing help! Any amount helps and if not we ask for all your prayers.

Thank you kindly and God bless.
