Carli's Exchange Year

This year I will be embarking on a year-long student exchange program thanks to Rotary International.  I am asking for your help to allow me to take advantage of this opportunity.  

Rotary program has host families in 150 countries that take high school-age students into their homes.  On the 18th of February I learned I was assigned to Poland! I immediately started working on the challenging language through Rosetta Stone. There are costs associated with travel obviously,  and each family must obtain visa, airfare, emergency fund, gift fund, and processing fees totalling between $7,000-$8,000 for the year. 

I have worked hard to maintain a 4.0 GPA and am involved in many activities such as jazz band, knowledge bowl, math club, and equality club.  I look forward to learning a new language and being immersed in a culture different from the one I am used to.  There has never been a better time for greater cross-cultural understanding.
