Help Gideon from Gaza defend Israel

Growing up in Gaza...
I learned to hate Israelis and the Jewish people. My people taught me that Jews want to kill us, that Jews have no history in this land and that Jews stole the land from us!
One day I read the Bible. I discovered that it was written by Jews and that even Jesus was a Jew. Imagine my shock! Through reading and studying, I learned that it is the Jewish people who have a historic right to the land - and not the other way around as I had been taught.
I became a true Christian and was very troubled. All I had been taught was wrong. I knew that I could not be silent so I began to tell all my friends what I had discovered. Sadly, many cut off.
I moved to the “West Bank,” the heartland of the Jewish historical homeland. Instead of hearing about Biblical history, in the name of human rights, I heard those who work for institutions, media and charities spread lies about Israel.
As a Gazan who has lived under the Hamas and Palestinian Authority, I want to tell our visitors the truth. I want to do it for my people, I want to do it for Israel and I want to do it for peace.
And this is the truth:
Israel is always the first to help countries who suffer disasters.
Israel shares innovation throughout the world.
Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East.
Israel protects and loves her Christians.
Israel treats the grandchild of the Hamas leader in their hospital.
Israeli army doctors give medical aid to wounded Syrian enemies.
Israeli doctors sometimes attended to injured terrorists before Israeli victims - because they treat those most in need.
I try to meet with visitors but I can only do it after work and I am usually the last to arrive. Unlike the wealthy organizations and charities who provide their people with efficient transport, I travel on the intercity buses. These are slow, unpredictable and there is much waiting around. Therefore, I miss many chances to share the truth. People return to their homes not only with unchanged hearts and minds but with even more bias than they arrived with.
I would love to take them to places such as Gush Etzion, where Israeli “settlers" and Palestinians mix. People could see not only coexistence but would also see “settlers” for who they are - honest, hard-working people who like all other decent people, want to lead a quiet and happy life.
With a humble second-hand car, I could not only get to tell my story, I could also take visitors and even my own people to Judea and Samaria - known today as the Palestinian Authority. By showing them these places, I can prove that Israel's history in this land - unlike our own - reaches back thousands of years.
I ask for your prayers for my safety to continue to do the right thing for my people and for Israel.

As a survivor of Palestinian terrorism...
I have learned that to be told by others that I am only a victim and that my life amounts to nothing because of my circumstances, is neither kind, helpful, noble moral or true.
Gideon, who also refuses to embrace victimhood, contacted me just months after the machete attack which left me nearly dead and claimed the life of my American Christian friend. He called me to express how horrified he was.
He wept.
For the last six years, we have spoken nearly every week. He continues to reassure me that he is praying for the Jewish people and for the State of Israel - he always asks how I am and if there is anything he can do.
Like Gideon, I am also keen to see all innocent human beings make a good life for themselves. In order to do this, I seek out those who want peace. With both of us undercover he takes me into the Palestinian Authority and enables me to meet such people. He has protected me, advised me and risked his life several times. I have seen his skills in dispelling lies and can testify to those who after hearing his story, have changed their minds.
A car will help us with our goals
Below is the price list of average second-hand cars in the Palestinian Authority. The left-hand column shows the price in Israeli Shekels, the second column from the right is the year the car was made. As you see, the sum we ar asking will give Gideon a basic vehicle, one just good enough that will not break down or need a lot of expensive repairs.
Sadly, Gideon's real name cannot be revealed. There would be some of his own who would want him dead. Therefore, it has been necessary to choose a pseudonym. I chose the name Gideon after the warrior in the Bible who sent out messengers. By his courage and strategy, he ensured victory for the Israelites and even ensured peace for 40 years.
I can think of no better name for my brave friend. I hope you too would see the enormity and the possibilities of what this brave young man can achieve.
