Carey Sims' Vocal Recovery Fund

Most of you probably know Carey Sims as one of the finest vocalists in the Charlotte region. He's only been performing almost every night of the week for decades. If you've seen him live you're familiar with his talent as a vocal powerhouse. Carey has given countless memorable performances that have been a staple of the CLT music community for years.
Perhaps you know Carey from his presence as a yoga instructor around town. As with everything he tackles, he brings a high level of dedication and knowldege to the yoga mat. Compassion, patience, talent, hard work- these words are synonymous with the name Carey Sims.
Chances are if you know of Carey in either of his professional fields you know that he is a stand up guy. One of the great blessings of my life is being able to call Carey a true friend. Those who share this sentiment know that he is the friend that is always there for you, will always make time for you, and will always be the first to offer guidance or even just a shoulder to cry on.
Currently, our friend needs help. Some of you know that as 2016 has progressed Carey has been faced with some serious vocal problems. What began as a polyp has evolved into a hemorrhage, leading to serious trauma of the vocal chords. As you can imagine, this is a sobering thing to face for someone whose main source of income is his voice.
Carey currently faces probable surgery and a significant recovery time.
This means he will not be able to use his voice.
If Carey does not play a gig or teach a yoga class he does not get paid.
WHAT WE CAN DO:
To give Carey a fighting chance at recovery he needs to take a complete sabbatical from using his voice. This means no gigs, a limited teaching schedule, and most likely an indeterminate period of complete silence.
I am reaching out to his friends and colleagues and all the folks whose lives Carey has touched. I'm asking you to considering donating to this recovery fund.
All proceeds will go to Carey.
These funds will help offset medical bills as well as aid him in navigating his inevitable period of recovery without income.
Every donation, regardless of amount will help our friend.
He has helped us, now it is our turn.
